 A FREE IPAPA northern painting event: RSVP please

$2,000 in awards and up to another $1,000 in purchase awards. The town buys 1-3 paintings at this event to add to the community art collection begun in 2016.

Registration with free breakfast will be from 6:30 a.m to 10 a.m. Saturday September 28 at Mason Lodge #601, 104 North Madison St., Converse, Indiana.  Canvases are stamped at registration. Scenic rivers, lake, historical downtown and farms.

FRIDAY NOCTURNAL — back by popular demand. Early arrivals may get their canvases stamped at the Library and participate in a Friday evening nocturnal on Main Street. Sunset for Sept. 28 is 7:30 but you may start anytime, this event is very informal and fun.

Friday night, there may be a live band.

SATURDAY 6:30-10 a.m. expect: (any subject in Miami, Wabash, Howard and Grant Counties)

    • Pick up packets for directions, easy lake access with scenes, key homes, farms, and gardens to access with prior permission.
    • Listings for DNR/IPAPA Painting Indiana en Plein Air will be available
    • Free breakfast for artists Saturday morning.
    • Canvas stamping with date and event
    • Pick up instructions and any agenda updates for time changes of any events, ie, awards, show and tell, etc
  • Early arrivals and late stays are welcomed and encouraged Friday, or Saturday stays — weather permitting, a moonlit paintout

The Time Table

4:30 Competition judging and sale, Return to Converse, commons park downtown -RAIN or SHINE EVENT

5:30 Cash Awards (currently at $2,000 plus purchase prizes for public collection) / public viewing and sale

6 p.m.-9 p.m., meet at 11296 S. 950 E., home of host artist for an after party, beer, wine, cheese, sandwiches, pizza, while supplies last. Latin dancing, and mingle with sponsors, patrons, and select locals.

• if they plan to set up at art show on Sunday 

There will be a Friday evening program. 

It will be at 7:00 at the Brookville Library.

Registration packets will be available at the Brookville Library starting Wednesday, Oct. 16th.  Artists will need to check in. 

No registration fees.
