RECOMMENDATION: you might Google some of the sites in advance to get an idea of painting subjects and locations i.e. where they are located. Some suggestions include: Indiana Dunes & National Lake Shore Region; the historic Barker Mansion, Carlson’s Hotdogs and Root Beer (cheap eats, famous place), the iconic Michigan City Lighthouse, Michigan City Courthouse, Michigan City Library (iconic, famous architectural design), Michigan City Lighthouse Museum; Michigan City Zoo and various WPA structures within and without the zoo; Washington Park; Mi City Amory; the historic Coal Chute on US Route 12, the International Friendship Botanic Gardens (located between Dunes Summer Theatre and historic downtown), Bridges Inn and Restaurant Grill (famous working steel bridge there); Saturday morning Farmer’s Market in historic downtown (site of & within the boundaries of the Saturday Quick Paint); New Buffalo, Michigan (seven minutes to downtown from Dunes Arts Foundation campus); and the Dunes Summer Theatre (founded 1951 – built 1941 – and nestled on 19-acres of wooded lot; iconic).

Dunes Arts Foundation (DAF) was founded in 1951 and is in its 67th season of continuous operation. This “gem in the woods” operates the Dunes Summer Theatre and youth educational programs. Quality professional theater in an enchanting setting.
