Join landscape painters from around the Midwest, as they seek to capture the beauty and color of Elkhart County’s Quilt Gardens Tour sites. This is one of the peek weekends for the Quilt Gardens Tour in Elkhart County, and it will be even more special for visitors to be able to meet and watch some of the Midwest’s top landscape painters. Following the paint out on Sunday afternoon there will be a sale of art work by the painters who have participated in the weekend’s events.

Schedule of Events:

Saturday, August 8:

7:30a.m.- 4:00 p.m. Check in, supports stamped, maps to the Quilt Garden Locations will be provided

7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Wine and Cheese Reception for plein-air artists and the public at Sycamore Fine Arts in the Old Bag Factory. This will also be a reception for the opening of Sycamore Fine Arts new special exhibit: Fur, Fins and Feathers.

Sunday, August 9:

Check in beginning at 8:00 a.m. for new artists, (others can go directly to where ever they plan to paint) The following events will occur at the Old Bag Factory.

2:00 p.m. - 3:00 pm. Judging and award presentation for the Plein Air Competition.
Professor Ron Monsma will be the judge for this competition he is Professor and Chair of Drawing and Painting at IUSB.

3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Art sale at the Old Bag Factory, for artists that painted during the paint out. Artists can also bring other work to sell. Artist will keep 100% from the sales of any work sold during the sale.
