This invitation is for both Indiana Plein Air Painters and the Ohio Plein Air Society members. We will have a list of exciting places to paint, both rural and cityscapes as well as hosting our traditional cook out on the museum grounds. Once again, we will allow for set up and sale of works completed on that day (no previous works from other paint outs) in the museum foyer. In appreciation of the artists we will NOT charge any commission on works sold that day.

7 am – Free morning coffee, donuts, sign-in & stamp canvases
11 am – Drop off work to be judged for inclusion in “Plein Air Games”
11:15 – Meet at Roosters for lunch
1pm – Four painters selected for “Plein Air Games”.* Games from 1 to 4 pm
will be videod by Creative Underground Broadcast Channel. All are welcome
to watch and enjoy the fun. Or return to painting as they choose.
An elimination process will determine the prize winners of the Games.

The first 4 people to sign in on the morning of Saturday September 5th, 2015 will receive a $25 gift card to Plaza Art Supplies. First 25 people to arrive will be put in a raffle to decide on one winner of a Painting Safe Box Easel. *Winners of the Plein Air Games will receive either a set of Rosemary hand made brushes, Set of Oil Paints from M. 27th Annual Great Outdoor Art Contest and Local Tastings
2015 September 12
Head to the 27th Annual Great Outdoor Art Contest and experience the tradition of plein air painting as registered artists paint on the T.C. Steele State Historic Site grounds from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Judging of the artwork will take place at 2 p.m. in the Formal Garden Area and winners will be announced around 3 p.m.
During the event, local artisans will be providing food and drinks available to purchase and a live musical performance beginning at 1 p.m.
ADMISSION: $2 Parking for General Public; Registration:
Early Bird (Aug.1-31) $10 Adults, $9 Friends Members, $5 Kids;
Regular Registration (Sept 1-9): $15 Adults,
$14 Friends Members, $10 Kids

Mississenewa Lake Paintout
Sept. 26, Saturday, Converse, Indiana
Located near Peru and Wabash, and an hour from South Bend and Fort Wayne, two hours from Indy: experience a wide variety of Plein Air favorites from the hills and valleys of the lake area to the scenic farms, gardens of the quaint community of Converse. A limited number of boatmen will take artists to otherwise inaccessible areas, or explore the Rocky Run limestone creek bed, cliffs, scenic twists and turns of 10-mile creek, Miami Indian sacred Seven Pillars, or the giant stands of hardwood in the deep woods. This event has it all for whatever an artist prefers. Awards, local housing with residents, apartments, and camping information for early arrivals is available at Firstbrushoffall.wordpress.com.
